Ohio University @ Athens, Ohio

Assalamu'alaikum dan selamat sejahtera,

Pada 25 Disember 2015, selepas makan tengahari, kami ke Athens bersama keluarga Prof. Jayum. Athens adalah sebuah bandar kecil di Ohio, tidak sebesar Columbus yang menempatkan Ohio State University yang menempatkan ramai penuntut Malaysia. Orang Utara kata, 'dah tumpang sampai', kami ke Ohio University. Bandar kecil ini memang lengang. Prof. Jayum kata, Orang Putih pun balik kampung. Kami ambil gambar di beberapa lokasi menarik di Ohio University, dibawa oleh Prof. Jayum.

Ohio University is a major U.S. public research university located primarily on a 1,850-acre (7.5 km2) campus in Athens, Ohio, United States. As one of America's oldest universities, Ohio University was chartered on February 18, 1804,[3] and opened for students in 1809.[4] As of 2014, the Athens campus had approximately 23,300 individual students; the other five campuses had approximately 10,000 combined; and eLearning had approximately 5900 individual students. In total, 39,201 individuals were enrolled in classes equivalent to 30,878 full time equivalent attendance.[5]

The university maintains a selective admission rate with further admission requirements for its schools.[6][7] The Heritage College of Medicine maintains its separate select admissions criteria.[8] Ohio University offers more than 250 areas of undergraduate study.[9] On the graduate level, the university grants master's degrees in many of its major academic divisions, and doctoral degrees in selected departments.[10] Ohio University is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.[11] The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching classifies Ohio as a Research University (high research activity) under the Basic Classification category.[12]

Ohio's Division I sports teams are called the Bobcats[13] and compete in the Mid-American Conference in all sports.[14] Ohio football has participated in 6 Division-1 Bowl Games within the past decade. Its men's basketball team has played in 13 NCAA basketball championships.[15]
