Center, 3711 Market Street, Suite 800
Assalamu'alaikum,
Rittenhouse Ventures invest in prototype development and increasing their investment from time to time in the company invested.
VC is looking for the right people in the Founding Team.
Pilot customer is very important.
Use convertible notes (*Need to read of this academically).
1 million dollar invest = 4 million in share, founder get 1 million share.
If we raise USD1 million, this is what we can do.
Read Sensitivity Analysis.
Ben Franklin invest from 50K to 500K (early stage investor).
Need Financial Plan, Operational Plan
Be careful with Strategic Venture Capitalist or Corporate Venture Capitalist.
Large company of VC is looking for technology that they can utilize.
Corporate VC --> What they want? Be smart about them.
Find the right investor and partner.
Be careful with 'life sciences' as the capital is so high. You want USD10 million, they want to invest USD30 million.
We need to understand the big picture (company with multiple products).
Explain 'why', do not confuse investor.
Green tech products & Clean energy --> You need technical knowledge and skills.
Education sector is a tough sector. Think about the customer, district, school, parent, principal, teacher. Individual customer is very tough.
How to show your value proposition.
When we should start talking to people about money?
-VC is eager to learn about new business environment.
-VC can recommend other people to your company, to invest some money.
-Philly ecosystem is very good.
-Aware about market readiness.
Does VC invest in non-profit companies? Mostly No.
Larger VC has 'marketing budget' to sponsor program.
In selecting a company, experience is much better than age.
More on quality of individuals on how to grow of companies and goals of individuals.
It is like a football team with a different position, sharing goals and outcomes.
Wassalam.
Jayson Tischler
